Dr Allison Newey graduated from the University of New South Wales with honours in 2001. She undertook her Radiology training at Liverpool and Westmead Hospitals and was awarded the M.G.F. Donnan Prize for Pathology in the RANZCR part II specialist examinations in 2007. Dr Newey completed a Body Oncology Imaging Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center New York in 2009, and a Neuroradiology Fellowship at New York Langone Medical Centre (NYU) in 2010, followed by a Head and Neck Observership at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston.
In 2012 Dr Newey joined North Shore Radiology and was appointed as a Staff Specialist Radiologist at Royal North Shore Hospital. She is actively involved in teaching Radiology trainees and is an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (RANZCR). Her interests are Body Oncology imaging, Neuroradiology, and Head and Neck Imaging. She actively participates in regular Neuroradiology, Head and Neck, Urology and abdominal clinical meetings.
