There is no preparation required for this MRI, however there are restrictions on whether or not you are eligible for a Medicare rebate.
We will require you to send us a copy of your request form prior to an appointment being made.
Cardiac MRIs usually take approximately 1 hour.
You will lie down on a table that slides into the MRI machine.
The machine makes loud noises during the scan, so earplugs or headphones may be provided.
It’s crucial to remain still during the procedure to obtain clear images.
In some cases, a contrast agent may be injected through an intravenous (IV) line to enhance the visibility of certain structures.
There are no restrictions to your normal activites following the MRI.
The results will be reviewed and co-reported by a radiologist and cardiologist. These results will be made available to your referring doctor.
